My new Blackberry Bold arrived yesterday, as an upgrade to the Curve I was using previously. Unfortunately it was not shipped with the ‘Today’ theme that the Curve was, at least on T-Mobile UK anyway. This was a dire shame, as the ‘Today’ theme was the one I had in use on the Curve previously. Rather than just showing a collection of popular menu icons, which were one button press away anyway, it summarized latest two emails, latest two missed calls and nearest two calendar entries at a glance.

Bold Theme
I trawled Google for something similar for the Bold but short of paying for junk themes or having branding all over it, I had minimal success. I downloaded the Plazmic Theme Builder and got to work. It’s pretty resource heavy and a bit slow and bulky but it gets the job done. Well, here it is - I’ve customized the home screen only, set the font to my favorite (BB Casual), aligned the various items and added a lovely Aum background image that I found. .alx, .cod and the .thm source can be downloaded here. If anyone happens to have more than the hour’s experience with the theme builder than I have, or has any suggestions or improvements, please let me know!
