My services range from Security Consulting, Web Application Development, and Technical Management to Cloud Hosting, Embedded Hardware Development and Server Management.

What I’m really good at -

  • I have over 9 years of Linux & BSD Server administration and management across a huge range of distributions, specializing in Debian based systems. I’ve managed large server clusters and set up and managed virtualized and cloud based systems. I can also optimize and fine tune Apache2/MySQL/PHP/OpenSSL to expert level.
  • I have over 6 years of security testing applications and networks. If your web application, router config or IDS ruleset contains flaws – trust me to find them.
  • I’ve managed numerous large projects, and managed 20+ sized technical teams. At the same time, a large percentage of my work is Client and stakeholder facing.
  • I have over 7 years of experience developing corporate PHP & MySQL Applications, with solid PostgreSQL, CSS and JavaScript abilities. I can easy integrate with vBulletin, Authorize.net, PayPal and other frameworks, packages and APIs.
  • Troubleshooting routing, networking and IP protocols.

What I’m reasonably good at -

  • I worked for 3 years with C programming specifically in a UNIX/POSIX environment. I have a little Python experience and even less Assembler experience.
  • I have solid electronic and hardware skills – I still occasionally work on my hobby robot built from spare parts.
  • Configuring a Exim/Courier/MySQL backed mail system.
  • Debugging, optimizing and maintaining large wireless networks

My Past Experience

I freelanced as a self taught developer and consultant since between 2001 and 2005, before starting SAS Data Services Ltd. Within this time, I consulted for a number of large online ventures, specifically security enterprises, and PLCs.

My Current Role

SAS Data Services Ltd was incorporated as a Limited Liability Company in 2005, although was running as a sole trader organization for over a year before incorporation. Since the incorporation of SAS Data Services Ltd, I have been responsible for a wide range of both small and large projects, ranging from online gaming, to wireless hotspot and internet provision. We have a regular and increasing client base, spread across the US, Spain, India and the UK with an international multi-tiered development staff. The firm specializes in web application development and security, and that of project management and total solution delivery.
As sole Director and Shareholder, my role within the firm is to act as a single point of contact and responsibility between the Client and our development team. I have acted as a developer, project manager and Client facing consultant as and when required I am required to manage and maintain our server, networking and router farm hosted across the US and UK, as well as act as the centerpoint for the operations of the firm. My personal specialty and area of focus is security testing.

My Ambitions

I’m always looking to take on consulting roles or a CTO type role, dealing specifically with platform security and technical strategy.

My Other Interests

My interests are mostly technical, mathematical and scientific, and I spend my free time developing and tinkering with hardware and software, as you can see from this blog!
I have also been a keen guitar and piano player for the past 7 years and have interests in philosophy and spirituality.
